County Cub Camp 2009

The weather was kind and the site was ideal. Over 1200 Cub Scouts, Leaders and helpers took part in a joint County Cub Camp and Beaveree at Overstone Park in Northampton. This built on the previous County Cub Camp successes, and added a new dimension to the weekend by having the Beaveree at the same site on the Saturday. The site was buzzing with over 2000 people on this day.

There were loads of activities to do including Go-Karts, Climbing walls,Archery, Craft, 5-a-side Football and It’s a Knockout, to name but a few.

Tommy Donbavand, the author of “The Scream Street” series of books, visited our event and told a very exciting story to everyone present. This was well received by everyone.

Great fun was had by all, and a lot of encourageing comments have been received by phone and email.

We again made our event part of the Giant Sleepover, which is an International event that takes place every year for young people from Youth Organisations and Schools around the world. It adds another dimension to the event.
