CubJam 2013

Planning is on course for contingents to set sail for the next week long camp open to all Cub Scouts to enjoy at Gilwell, 25th to 31st May 2013.

The aim of Cubjam is to offer Cub Scouts from across the UK the opportunity to join together for a week of “jamboree” style fun, reminding them that they have much in common with each other – no matter their background or where they are from. Cubjam aims to give them a taste of the adventure that lies ahead in years to come. The wide range of activities offered during Cubjam help the Cub Scouts learn new skills, try new experiences and make new friends. The location also means it is a great way for parents to give their children a bit of freedom to gain their independence in a safe environment.

We aim to use technology to enhance, and not hamper, the whole experience at every stage. This includes providing resources through the website to help Leaders planning to bring a contingent through to helping worried parents feel like they are there by keeping them updated with daily camp life.

We now have loads more information and resources available on our pirate themed Cubjam2013 website (such as some great ideas to help with fundraising, suggested kit list and draft parent pack – all of which you download and amend to suit your needs), so please feel free to take a look – go to: www.cubjam.org.uk

You can learn all about Cubjam, read the fun and see some photos from Cubjam2009, book to bring a contingent, and register an interest in joining the team (anything from entertainment teams to stage crew). We already have some contingents booked from as far apart as Derbyshire and East Sussex to Essex and Merseyside.

We look forward to seeing some of you there!
