Nene Valley District Scout Network launch

19th December 2011

 Nene Valley District Scout Network

The day started with some large games followed by Shooting.  All the Network young adults enjoyed this and it got quite competitive at the start of quite a competitive day.

More large games of chess whilst the Archery area was set up.

Archery was even more competitive than the shooting with the instructors becoming rivals at the end of session.

Whilst the activities were going on inside the BBQ was being prepared outside, on what was an extremely cold day.   The BBQ was cooked to perfection and enjoyed by all.

The Evening Telegraph arrived just as the activities had been packed away but did manage to take a few shots of us before the day was wrapped up.

Again I can’t thank the team of leaders/helpers  enough that supported the day.  It was great to see enthusiasm being shown to what will be a first for the District , an active Scout Network for  18yr to 25yrolds” to follow the Explorers section.

A very important part of  this summary is the thanks.  Without the support of the following persons we wouldn’t have been able to hold our first activity:

Chele Height (District Commissioner) Providing the use of the building, booking the activities and instructors, providing the BBQ food and preparing it and keeping all tea and coffee flowing.

Tony Knott and Tim Paragreen for agreeing to do the Climbing wall but due to bad weather organising the BBQ for the afternoon.

Tom and Mitch DESC and yes Clare Mitchell for helping with the BBQ cooking

Nev Buzzard and Jim Davis for the Shooting activity

Steve Hoole and Rose Bass – Archery
