Bwaise Project Update
An Unexpected Journey Earlier this year, on the 1st March 2015, three Scout Leaders from Northamptonshire walked into a school in Uganda, East Africa.
In itself, this may sound a little unusual. However, for Keith Shackleton, Dean Smith and Carole Stephenson it was not so extraordinary as they had done the same thing exactly twenty years before and on many occasions since.
Back in 1995 they travelled to Uganda to try to identify a community development project which Northamptonshire Scouts could get involved with and which would benefit both partners.
They spent two and a half weeks travelling around Uganda and by utilising regional Ugandan scout connections were able to link into local communities and identify potential projects.
