Daventry Cub Scouts invited to exclusive screening on The Jungle Book

Over 150 other Cubs from all over Daventry and District were invited to a special exclusive screening of the Jungle Book at the Cineworld Cinema at Northampton Sixfields. The event took place as part of the 100 years of Cub Scouting celebrations happening throughout this year. The Jungle Book has a special place in Cub Scout history as it was used by Robert Baden Powell to base his Scouting to younger members and launched Wolf Cubs in 1916. The film was the perfect way to educate the Cubs on its history. The leaders still have Cub Scout names from The Jungle Book such as Akela, Baloo and Bagheera.

Thandi Clark, a Cub Scout from 1st Woodford Halse  said  “The film was brilliant. I enjoyed all of it”

Joshua Smyth, a Cub Scout from 1st Woodford Halse said “Some of the film was a bit scary but I really liked it”

Jennie Curtis, a Scout Leader said “This was a really good opportunity for Cub Scouts to get together and watch a film. It’s the first time we have done this as an District activity and I would like to thank Cineworld for allowing us to take over the cinema.”
